Legal, AML & disclosure
Terms of business.
Last updated April 2026. Aureon Bullion Ltd, registered in England and Wales. HMRC-registered High Value Dealer under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. Please read these terms carefully — they form the contract between us.
1. About these terms
These terms govern every contract between you and Aureon Bullion Ltd ("Aureon Bullion", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, when you buy goods from us, place an item into storage with us, or sell items to us. By placing an order, accepting a quote, or using our website you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms. We may update them from time to time; the version in force is the version published on our website at the moment your order is accepted.
2. Who can buy from us
You must be at least 18 years old, ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom (or another jurisdiction we expressly accept), and acting as a principal on your own behalf, not as agent or nominee for any third party. Orders are accepted at our sole discretion. We may decline, suspend or unwind any order without giving reasons, including where doing so is necessary to comply with our anti-money laundering, sanctions or know-your-customer obligations.
3. Formation of contract
Our website, price lists and quotations are an invitation to treat, not an offer. A binding contract is formed only when we issue a written order confirmation by email after (i) cleared funds have been received, and (ii) any required identity, source-of-funds or screening checks have been satisfactorily completed. Until that moment we may withdraw, amend or refuse any order, including in cases of manifest pricing error, supplier withdrawal, sanctions match, or failed verification.
4. Pricing, price-lock and revaluation
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, where VAT applies, are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate. Investment-grade gold meeting the criteria of the VAT Act 1994 Schedule 8 Group 15 and HMRC Notice 701/21A is exempt from VAT. Silver, platinum, palladium and non-investment-grade items are subject to VAT at 20%.
When you add an item to your basket the displayed price is held for ten (10) minutes (the "price-lock window"). After that window expires we revalidate the price against live spot feeds and supplier quotes; the revalidated price applies to the order. Where the live market has moved against the locked price by more than 2% before payment clears we reserve the right to cancel the order or to invite you to confirm at the new price.
All prices include our commercial markup. Spot prices shown on the website are reference rates only and not an offer to deal at that rate.
5. Payment methods and limits
We accept debit and credit card payment processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Card payment is available up to a per-order limit which we may vary without notice (currently £25,000).
For orders above £10,000, or where required by our risk policy, we require payment by UK bank transfer (Faster Payments, CHAPS or SWIFT for international). Cleared funds must be received from a UK bank account held in the name of the verified account holder. Third-party payments are not accepted.
We do not accept cash, cryptocurrency, money orders, or payments routed through money service businesses. We do not store full card details on our systems.
Where payment fails, is reversed, charged back or recalled at any time, title to the goods does not pass and we reserve the right to recover the goods or their value, plus reasonable costs.
6. Identity verification (KYC) and source of funds
Aureon Bullion is a High Value Dealer registered with HMRC under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 ("MLR 2017").
We are required to verify the identity of every customer placing a single order, or a series of linked orders within any rolling twelve-month period, with a cumulative value of £5,000 or more. We may also apply verification at lower thresholds at our discretion, for example where a payment, address or behavioural pattern triggers our risk model.
Acceptable identity documents are: a valid passport, UK photocard driving licence, or national identity card; together with proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, or HMRC correspondence). Documents may be verified electronically through a regulated identity verification provider.
For orders or linked orders of £25,000 or more, or where our risk policy otherwise requires, we will request documentary evidence of source of funds and, where appropriate, source of wealth. Acceptable evidence includes recent bank statements showing the funds, a solicitor's letter for proceeds of sale, or pension/severance documentation.
We screen all customers against UK HMT consolidated sanctions, UN, EU and OFAC lists, politically exposed persons databases, and adverse media sources, and we will rescreen periodically while you remain a customer. Where a screening match cannot be cleared, or where verification cannot be completed, we will refuse, suspend or unwind the transaction and refund cleared funds to the originating account, less any unrecoverable costs.
Identity, screening and transaction records are retained for five (5) years from the end of our business relationship with you, in accordance with regulation 40 of MLR 2017.
7. How we source stock — drop-ship and held inventory
Aureon Bullion operates a hybrid sourcing model. You should read this clause carefully because it affects how and when title and risk pass to you.
(a) Loose bullion bars and coins. The substantial majority of bullion bars and standard investment coins (for example PAMP, Argor-Heraeus, Metalor, Umicore, Royal Mint and Royal Canadian Mint product) are sourced on a drop-ship basis from approved third-party LBMA-affiliated suppliers and refiners. For these items Aureon Bullion does not hold the physical stock at the time of order. We act as principal: we contract with you in our own name, take payment, place the matching purchase order with the supplier, and arrange dispatch either directly from the supplier to you under our shipping account, or via consolidation through our processing partner.
(b) PCGS / NGC certified coins and selected rare stock. Independently graded coins (PCGS, NGC, CAC), proof issues, and selected rare or numismatic items may be (i) held in our own insured inventory, (ii) held with a sub-custodian on our behalf, or (iii) sourced on a back-to-back basis from a specialist supplier. The product page indicates whether an item is in stock with us or is sourced. Where an item is sourced we will only confirm sale once the supplier has confirmed availability at the contracted price.
(c) In every case Aureon Bullion remains the contracting party for the purposes of consumer protection law, the Sale of Goods Act 1979, and these terms. The identity of the supplier for any individual order is confidential as a matter of commercial sensitivity but will be disclosed in writing on reasonable request, subject to any confidentiality obligations we owe that supplier.
(d) We reserve the right to substitute an item with another item of identical specification (mint, year, weight, fineness and grade) where the originally ordered item becomes unavailable. We will notify you before dispatch where a substitution is material; you may cancel and receive a full refund within 24 hours of that notice.
8. Passing of title and risk
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery (or, for items placed into storage with us or our sub-custodian, on the later of payment clearing and our written confirmation that the item has been allocated and vaulted in your name).
Title to the goods passes to you only when (i) we have received cleared funds in full, (ii) all KYC, screening and source-of-funds requirements have been satisfied, and (iii) the goods have been delivered to you or allocated to your storage account in writing. Until title passes the goods remain our property (or that of our supplier, as the case may be) and we may recover them.
9. Delivery
UK deliveries are dispatched fully insured by Royal Mail Special Delivery, G4Si, Brink's, Loomis or another insured carrier of our choosing, signature required. Standard dispatch is the next business day after the later of cleared funds and successful verification, subject to supplier lead times. Drop-ship orders may take longer; an estimated dispatch window is shown at checkout.
Insurance in transit covers the full retail value of the order until signature on delivery. You must inspect the outer packaging on receipt: do not accept any package showing signs of damage, resealing or tampering, and instruct the carrier to return it to us. Once the package has been signed for in good condition, risk has passed to you.
Deliveries to PO Boxes, mail-forwarding addresses, houses of multiple occupation, work addresses, and addresses subject to a Royal Mail redirection are at your sole risk; we may decline to dispatch to such addresses.
International deliveries are by prior arrangement only and may be subject to additional verification, export controls and import duties. The customer is responsible for all import VAT, duties and customs formalities at destination.
Dates quoted for delivery are estimates and are not of the essence of the contract. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
10. Right to cancel and returns
Investment bullion (gold, silver, platinum and palladium bars and coins whose price fluctuates with the underlying spot market) is exempt from the 14-day distance-selling cooling-off period under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, because the price is dependent on fluctuations in the financial market which we cannot control. Once your order is confirmed it cannot be cancelled by you for change of mind.
PCGS- and NGC-certified coins may be returned within seven (7) days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, provided that (i) the original sealed grading holder is intact and unbroken, (ii) the holder shows no evidence of tampering, scratching or relabelling, and (iii) the item is returned by insured carrier at your cost in its original outer packaging. Refunds will be issued within fourteen (14) days of our receipt and inspection.
Items found on inspection to be damaged, with broken holders, or not in the condition supplied, will be returned to you and no refund issued.
Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights in respect of goods that are not as described, not of satisfactory quality, or not fit for purpose.
11. Buy-back and selling to us
We may, but are not obliged to, repurchase items previously supplied by us or items of equivalent specification. Buy-back prices are quoted on application, are valid for the period stated in the quote, and are subject to physical inspection and authentication on receipt. We are not obliged to buy from you even if we originally sold the item to you. Sales to us are subject to the same KYC, source-of-funds and screening requirements as purchases from us.
12. Storage
Where you elect to place items into storage with us, the items are held fully allocated and segregated in your name with an LBMA-approved insured vault operator. Storage is subject to a separate storage schedule which forms part of the contract. Title and risk in stored items pass to you on the later of cleared payment and our written confirmation of allocation. You may request delivery or transfer of stored items at any time on payment of our then-current handling and shipping fees.
13. Authenticity
All items are sold by description. The descriptions on our website are accurate to the best of our knowledge based on supplier specifications and, for graded coins, the certification of the issuing grading service (PCGS, NGC or CAC). If you wish to challenge the authenticity, weight, fineness or grade of any item, you must do so by written notice received by us within ten (10) working days of delivery. We will arrange independent assay or re-grading at our cost where there is reasonable evidence of a defect; if no defect is found, the cost is yours.
14. Risk warning
Physical precious metals and rare coins are non-yielding assets whose market value can fall as well as rise. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Liquidity, bid-offer spreads and dealer premiums vary with market conditions. Aureon Bullion is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, is not a member of any investor compensation scheme, and does not provide regulated financial, tax, pension or investment advice. Any market commentary, calculator output or allocation suggestion on this website is general information only and is not personalised advice. You should take independent professional advice before making any significant purchase.
15. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability to you in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute, or otherwise arising in connection with any single order is limited to the price paid by you for that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from movements in the market price of metals or coins.
16. Anti-money laundering and reporting obligations
We are required by law to report knowledge or suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing to the National Crime Agency. We are not permitted to inform you that such a report has been made (the offence of "tipping off" under section 333A of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002). Where reporting obligations require us to delay or refuse a transaction, we may do so without giving reasons and without any liability to you for that delay or refusal.
17. Privacy and data protection
We collect and process personal data only as necessary to fulfil your order, comply with our legal obligations (in particular MLR 2017 and tax law), prevent fraud, and operate your account. Lawful bases under UK GDPR are contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). We share data with payment processors, identity verification providers, sanctions screening providers, carriers, vault operators, our suppliers, our professional advisers, and law enforcement and regulators where required. We do not sell or rent customer data and we do not use behavioural advertising. AML and transaction records are retained for five years from the end of the business relationship; other records for the period required by tax and contract law. You have rights of access, rectification, restriction, portability and erasure (subject to our legal retention obligations). Contact privacy@aureonbullion.com.
18. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies for session management, basket persistence, security and fraud prevention. We do not use third-party advertising, retargeting, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies.
19. Intellectual property
The website, its content, branding, photography, calculator logic, package compositions and written research are the intellectual property of Aureon Bullion or its licensors. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, including republication, scraping, framing, or use to train automated systems, is prohibited without our written consent.
20. Force majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supplier failure, carrier failure, banking-system outage, sanctions or export-control changes, extreme metal market disruption, civil emergency, or pandemic. Where such an event continues for more than 30 days either party may cancel the affected order; cleared funds for undelivered goods will be refunded.
21. Complaints
Complaints should be sent in writing to complaints@aureonbullion.com, marked for the attention of the Compliance Officer. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to resolve within eight weeks. If you remain dissatisfied with our final response you may refer the matter to the courts as set out below; we are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme for bullion sales.
22. Assignment, severance, third parties
We may assign or transfer the contract to a successor in business or to any company within our group. Your rights under the contract are personal to you and may not be assigned or transferred without our written consent. If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder will continue in force. The contract is between you and us only; no other person has any right to enforce it under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
23. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, the contract and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim, save that we may bring proceedings against you in any jurisdiction in which you reside or hold assets.
